Collections - Asian Art
The Collection of Asian art consists of artwork from all ages and spans across great distances and cultures. The artworks range from the Neolithic era, representing a variety of ancient civilisations and Chinese Dynasties, many of the items have endured for thousands of years and are part of what remains of glorious empires and nations.
The permanent exhibition also includes works from the Loose collection. Ingvar and Reidun Loose spent 30 years in Asia to create this collection. Thanks to his friendship to Abu Ridho, the director of the Djakarta Museum, he became a great expert in Asian art and during their voyages the Loose family were able to gather great treasures.
